Parts of Central Texas west of Austin are under a severe thunderstorm watch, as some more rain crosses through the region.  Meanwhile, the Texas Forest Service is warning of extremely critical wildfire conditions in Northwest and West Texas. The Forest Service is working on nine major fires across the state right now. The Rockhouse fire in the Fort Davis area still isn’t 100 percent contained.  That fire has now burned over 300,000 acres.  204 of Texas' 254 counties are under burn bans.

It’s been more than three weeks since the fire in an Oak Hill neighborhood blackened 100 acres. The Austin Fire Department’s holding a Town Hall meeting Wednesday night with the Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods to discuss wildfire preparedness.  The meeting’s at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th floor of the ACC Pinnacle Building, 7748 Highway 290 West.
