Gas Prices Drop in Texas

Some good news if you're filling up your tank this weekend- AAA Texas reports gas prices in Texas have dropped eight cents this week to $3.62 a gallon. Austin drivers are paying an average of $3.64.  The association says one reason prices are lower is a drop in crude oil prices.

NCAA Baseball Austin Regional Begins Today

The Texas Longhorn baseball team takes on Princeton at 6:30 p.m. in the Austin Regional at Disch-Falk Field. Kent State and Texas State are playing earlier in the day as part of the double elimination regional. The winner of the Austin Regional will face the winner of the Tempe Regional for a chance to play in the College World Series.  The last time UT won a national title was in 2005.

I-35 at Ben White Closing Again

The Texas Department of Transportation is closing the southbound lanes of I-35 tonight.  Traffic will be detoured to the access road at the Woodward Street exit.  Several frontage roads in the Ben White area will also be closed or detoured. Crews will be placing bridge beams over the interstate as part of the new direct ramp that will eventually connect northbound I-35 to westbound Ben White.  TXDOT says lanes should re-open around midnight Saturday.

Closures at Rio Grande & 24th

Expect delays and temporary lane closures at the intersection of Rio Grande Street and 24th Street today and through the weekend. City crews will be doing work for the Rio Grande Street Reconstruction Project.  Crews will be installing a new water line and new storm drain components. They're also re-paving the intersection and replacing curbs and sidewalks as needed.
