Precautionary Recall for Bagged Salads
Taylor Farms Retail Inc., a California company, is voluntarily recalling over 3,000 cases of various bagged salad blends because they could be contaminated with salmonella. The salad products were distributed in several states including Texas.
The salads were packed under the brands: Fresh Selections, HEB, Marketside and Taylor Farms. The salads had "best by" dates from October 18-21st. The U.S. FDA says no illnesses have been reported. Find more details on the recall here.
Tremors Felt in Karnes County
Officials at the Karnes County Sheriff's Office confirmed to KUT this morning that they felt a few seconds of tremors. Karnes County is southeast of San Antonio. The U.S. Geological Survey's website is reporting a magnitude 4.6 earthquake at around seven thirty this morning in southern Texas.
AISD Meeting for Eastside Campuses
The Austin Independent School District is holding a community meeting tonight for eastside schools. They will be talking about college preparation for students. The meeting is at Eastside Memorial High School at the Johnston Campus from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
Family, Friends & Fans Mourn Loss of Musician "Johnny Dee"
A visitation will be held today for Keith Landers, known as "Johnny Dee" in Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88's, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Austin. He passed away on Monday at the age of 60. The Austin American-Statesman reports Landers died in an ambulance after a weekly treatment at an Austin dialysis treatment center.
