No Valentine’s Day Plans? No Fear, Austin Has Plenty to Do!

Happy Valentine’s Day! If you're finding yourself scrambling to make last minute Valentine’s Day plans, don’t stress – we’ve found a bunch of great events the city is offering.

The Austin American-Statesman, The Austin Chronicle and Culture Map Austin have compiled extensive lists of great things to do tonight.

We’ve picked some of our favorites to share.

Why wait for hours at a restaurant for a hurried “romantic” dinner when you can take advantage of Austin’s eclectic food trailer scene? The Chronicle suggests rounding up a group of friends, renting a limo and hitting up the local food trailers. Make it fancy with TV trays, packed silverware, and of course champagne.  Some trailers to visit include Spartan Pizza (1104 E. Sixth), East Side King (1618 E. Sixth) and Luke’s Inside Out (1109 S. Lamar).

The Statesman lists drive-in theater Blue Starlite II - Downtown (1001 E. Sixth). The mini-theater is showing “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Princess Bride. ” Why not pack a bottle of bubbly, chocolate covered strawberries and relax with some great romantic movies?

Culture Map Austin mentions the Valentine’s Day dinner at The Highball (1142 S. Lamar). Get dolled up and enjoy a night of dinner and dancing, completely stress-free. There will be music from The Copa Kings, and a special menu prepared by Chef Trish Eichelberger.

The Highball is taking reservations from 6:00 to 9:00 p. m.

For those still looking for some restaurant reservations, check out Open Table. They are listing which restaurants still have some availability.
