After a humbling 48-24 loss to Baylor yesterday, the Texas Longhorns got a little good news Sunday.
With seven wins, the 'Horns have been picked to play in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Texas will face the California Golden Bears at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium on Wednesday, December 28.
The selection and the winning record represent a bit of redemption for the Longhorns, rebounding from a five win season in 2010 and no post-season bowl game after having played for college football's national championship the season before.
Texas Head Coach Mack Brown quashed rumors that he was planning on retiring or that he was being pushed out of the football program he's led for 14 years. DallasNews.com quotes Brown after Saturday's game flatly denying that he wasn't looking to hang it up anytime soon.
