Last month we reported on a group of filmmakers creating a remake of Richard Linklater's 1991 cult classic Slacker. Now the trailer is out, and the movie is set to make its debut in August.
The Austin Film Society and Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas asked 24 filmmakers to recreate scenes from the movie, sticking as close to the original script as possible, and are now compiling them into a modern adaptation.
While you have to wait until August to see the remake, you can actually watch the entire movie for free on YouTube right now. Well, not entirely free. You'll have to sit through seven commercial breaks.
Here's the trailer for the original.
