Casual Voting

It always comes as something of a shock to political junkies this time of year that not everyone’s a political junkie! (You may actually know people like this, yourself.)

Those in the political world (and those covering it) find themselves living from campaign claim to opposition counterclaim in the weeks leading up to Election Day.

Meanwhile, there are others walking among us who will vote…but who just don’t give two hoots about all the rhetoric of the campaign. KUT’s Ian Crawford and Jason Embry of the Austin American-Statesman discuss the casual voter–who may hold the balance of power in their hands–in this week’s “Texas Political Parlor.”

Ian Crawford joined KUT as News Editor in 2008, after spending over four years as a reporter/anchor at KLBJ Radio in Austin. He began his broadcasting career while still in high school in Southern Oregon. During high school and college at the University of Oregon, he worked at times as a reporter, news anchor, sports play-by-play reporter, music host and commercial producer before moving to Texas in 2003.
