Free Thanksgiving Meals in Austin

No holiday is more closely associated with food than Thanksgiving. But many Central Texans will be thankful just to get enough to eat this holiday season.

Several free holiday meals are being offered this Thanksgiving holiday. 

The Austin Food Bank and 211 Texas have compiled the following list:

Tuesday, Nov. 20:

  • United Way / HEB Feast of Sharing, Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd.,  4-8 p.m.
  • City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Dove Springs Recreation Center, 5801 Ainez Dr., 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 21:

  • Baptist Community Center, 2000 E. Second St., 1-6 p.m.

Thursday, Nov, 22:

  • North Austin Christian Church, 1734 Rutland Dr., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • St. Louis Catholic Church, Wozniak Hall, 7601 Burnet Rd., 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Ministry Of Challenge, 1500 E. 12th St., 12-2 p.m.
  • Bethany United Methodist Church, 10010 Anderson Mill Rd., 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • The Salvation Army Social Service Center, 501 E. 8th St., 12-4 p.m.
  • St. William’s Catholic Church, 620 Round Rock West Dr., 12-2 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 24:

  • Shoreline Christian Center: Distribution of 1000 sleeping bags, backpacks and socks. At corner of Fifth Street and I-35, 11 a.m-3 p.m.
