UT's associate athletic director for football operations Cleve Bryant, described as UT head football coach Mack Brown's right hand man, has taken a leave of absence while UT investigates "an accusation" made against him.

University of Texas’ associate athletic director for football operations Cleve Bryant has taken a leave of absence while UT officials investigate what only being described as “an accusation” made against him.

UT Athletics confirms Bryant took an administrative leave of absence, but won’t say why.

However, in a letter released this afternoon by his lawyer, Bryant denies the accusation, while offering no details on what it could be.

“Cleve Bryant understands and respects that every allegation, no matter how incredible, must be investigated under University of Texas policy,” reads the letter from Bryant’s lawyer Tom Nesbitt. “Mr. Bryant has cooperated fully and will continue cooperating in every reasonable way in the University of Texas investigation.”

The letter also states that Bryant’s wife, who works down the hall from her husband as a life skills counselor for the football team, has also taken a leave of absence.

Meanwhile, California attorney Gloria Allred tells KUT News that she has been hired by a woman “in reference to Bryant”. Allred refused to say any more than that. She has taken on numerous high profile cases in the past including those involving Michael Jackson and some of Tiger Woods’ former mistresses.
