Lege Weighs Frackers' Water Needs

Fracking has opened up huge deposits of oil and gas in Texas and other parts of the county. It’s brought plenty of jobs – and profits – to the state. But it also requires something Texas has in short supply these days: water. 

For StateImpact Texas, KUT’s Terrence Henry reports on why that’s caught the attention of the Texas Legislature.

I think it behooves the industry to make sure where we are in the limelight, on the totem pole, and highlight the fact that we’re trying to get away from fresh water. It’s just a fact of life that we have to deal with.
