Woman's Body Found On UT Campus Not Yet Identified

University of Texas at Austin Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday on campus. It’s being treated as a possible homicide.

The body was found Tuesday morning along Waller Creek behind the alumni association building. Austin Police say they are assisting with the investigation.

UT Austin President Greg Fenves returned early from a trip to Amarillo to speak at a news conference Tuesday afternoon, in which he said the University will increase the number of police patrols on campus in the wake of the discovery.

University Police Department Captain Don Verrett said that students should be aware of their surroundings, not use their earbuds and try to travel in pairs when walking on campus.

Police have not yet released the victim's identity. No other information has been released at this time.
