Wondering when to put out your trash or if you need to plug a parking meter? Here's a look at what's open and closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings pickup will be pushed back one day for customers who have service on Thursday or Friday. That means Thursday customers will get their trash collected on Friday and Friday customers will receive pickup service on Saturday.

Recreation centers, cultural centers, senior centers, and the Dougherty Arts Center, will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Zilker Garden Center and the tennis courts will be closed Thursday and reopen Friday.  Golf courses are open Thursday and Friday.

Parking is free on Thursday, not on Friday.

City libraries close at 6 p.m. today, and will be closed all day Thursday and Friday.

Barton Creek Square Mall is closed Thanksgiving Day, and reopens Friday at 5 a.m. Highland Mall is closed Thursday and reopens at 7 a.m. for Black Friday.

State offices are closed Thursday and Friday.

Post offices are closed Thursday, but express mail will be delivered.

Banks and credit unions are closed Thursday. Some will reopen on Friday.

MetroRail will not run Thursday or Friday. Neither will CARTS buses. Capital Metro buses will run on Sunday schedules on Thursday and Saturday schedules on Friday.

A number of events will affect downtown traffic over the holiday, including the Turkey Trot, the A&M Corps of Cadets March, the Chuy's Children's Parade, and Here's a Google Map showing affected streets. Click here to see a full map with descriptions of events.
