iHeartRadio Country Fest Will Head to Frank Erwin Center

Florida Georgia Line will play both Red Fest and iHeartRadio's Country Fest.

Austin's got another music festival.

Today, iHeartRadio announced a one-day country festival, featuring Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum, among others.

The Clear Channel-sponsored, Bobby Bones-hosted festival will descend upon the Frank Erwin Center on March 29th, making it the second country music fest planned for May 2014, after Jeff Foxworthy's Natty Light-sponsored Red Fest at Circuit of the Americas.

The two festivals bring less musical diversity than typical Austin festivals like SXSW, ACL and Fun Fun Fun Fest go — focusing solely on one genre, rather than a menagerie. And, if that genre suits your fancy, the two festivals represent diverging sides of the country spectrum.

Memorial Day weekend's three-day Red Fest will skew old school, bringing out acts like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tim McGraw and Big & Rich. Red Fest will also feature host Jeff Foxworthy and long-time collaborator Larry the Cable Guy — as well as reality TV personalities from "Duck Dynasty."

The two-day iHeartRadio Fest seems to be pushing newer, more commercial-radio-country acts like Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. iHeartRadio will feature the one-time, Austin-based DJ Bobby Bones.

Tickets for Red Fest are available on the fest's website, tickets for iHeartRadio Country Fest have not yet been made available.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story mistakenly said the iHeartRadio festival was two days. It is only on March 29th.
