Watch: Abbott, Patrick Get Inaugurated

New Texas Governor Greg Abbott is sworn in at today's inaugural ceremony.

Watch below: The Texas Tribune livestreamed the inauguration of Gov.-elect Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov.-elect Dan Patrick.

The daylong ceremony began at 11 a.m. on the South Capitol steps. Abbott, taking over for Rick Perry, became the 48th Governor of Texas.

The day's festivities include a prayer service, a swearing-in ceremony, barbecue, a parade, and later, a black tie ball.

The parade takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Congress Ave. and cross streets are closed for much of Tuesday from 11th St. to Riverside Dr. Cap Metro announced also that its express buses are replaced with local buses, so riders should "check the headsigns" for their buses.
