Fort Hood Testimony Continues

Prosecutors are expected to wrap their case for trying Army Major Nidal Hasan on 13 counts of murder last November. It’s unclear whether Defense attorney John Galligan will call witnesses in Hasan’s defense. Yesterday, investigators testified that Hasan had enough firepower to kill many more people than he did. Rangers 3-2 in AL Series

The Texas Rangers have two more chances to shake the New York Yankees. The Yankees beat the Rangers 7-2 Wednesday in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in New York. The next game is Friday in Texas. If the Rangers win, it would be their first time in the World Series. Over in the NLCS, the San Francisco Giants have a 3-1 lead in the series over the Philadelphia Phillies with a 6-5 win last night. The Giants can wrap up the National League pennant this afternoon in San Francisco.

San Antonio Food Processor Closed

Texas health officials have closed a produce processing plant in San Antonio and ordered a recall of products shipped since January.

The State Department of Health Services is investigating 10 cases of listeriosis, at least one in Travis County, possibly linked to the SanGar Produce & Processing Company. Lab tests on chopped celery from the plant found listeria monocytogenes.
