We already knew that former Texas Longhorns hero and current Tennesse Titans quarterback Vince Young had planned to open a steakhouse at 3rd and San Jacinto. Now we know when. The Statesman reports:
A private preview of Vince Young’s Steakhouse is set for next week, with the public opening on Saturday, Nov. 6. The restaurant is at 301 San Jacinto St. The building previously was the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, and before that was the site for the filming of the “Real World” reality television show in Austin.
The website vinceyoungsteakhouse.com only gives an address and contact email, and promises more "coming soon." The restaurant already held a hiring fair this month at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown.
The advertising firm handling PR for the restaurant sent us this in a media release:
The fare is inspired by Austin itself and is focused on being both seasonal and local. Signature dishes include, The Perfect 10, which is 10 ounces of American Wagyu (a tribute to Young’s jersey number), Pork Belly braised and deep fried and a Wagyu Beef Burger with a made from scratch bun. The interior of the restaurant was designed by award-winning American interior designer, author, and television show host Bill Stubbs and reflects a classic steakhouse with an Austin touch.
Here's where the restaurant will open in the Rail Yard District.
