Three Sprouts Locations To Close Next Month

Sprouts Farmers Market is closing three locations in Austin: the stores at 2917 W. Anderson Lane, 2805 Bee Cave Road and 5601 Brodie Lane. All stores will be closed by December 18, a Sprouts spokesperson confirmed.

“Austin is a great market for Sprouts and our locations in South Lamar, Great Hills and Round Rock will remain open for a long time to come,” Kim Rockley wrote in an e-mail.

Arizona-based Sprouts says it's closing the three locations because a recent merger with Sun Harvest left it with too many stores packed too closely together.

“We tried our best to make it work, but just can’t seem to be able to make that many stores work in such a small area,” Sprouts president Doug Sanders told the Austin American-Statesman.
