The Texas drought is forecast to diminish slightly in the latest long-range outlook from the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Anthony Artusa says most of the improvement is expected in northeastern Texas, with a sliver of some improvements in the central and southeastern parts of the state.
“Areas to the west and south of there, for the most part we expect either development or persistence of drought, especially as we move into the summer season,” Artusa says.
He says because May is typically a wet time of the year for Texas, if there is any improvement in the drought, it should come this month.
