facebook.com/TexasAttorneyGeneral

The blast damage from an explosion in West was more extensive than authorities first thought.

Initial estimates pegged the number of homes destroyed at about 50, but a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety now says 142 homes were destroyed.

About 50 were badly damaged. A total of 350 homes were affected.

In Austin, at least six fundraisers for West victims are planned. A public memorial is scheduled for tomorrow at Baylor University in Waco.
